EMILY’s List Endorses Rebecca Holcombe for Governor

WASHINGTON, D.C.  – On Tuesday, June 23, 2020, Rebecca Holcombe’s campaign for Governor announced the endorsement of EMILY’s List, an organization that supports progressive pro-choice women running for office.

“EMILY’s List is excited to endorse Rebecca Holcombe for Vermont governor. Rebecca is a tireless advocate for education who understands the importance of investing in Vermont’s children and working families. As secretary of education, Rebecca brought people and political parties together to create progress across the state’s school districts. EMILY’s List is confident that Rebecca will continue to unite Vermonters in the fight for affordable health care, quality public schools, and environmental protections, and we are proud to endorse her campaign,” said Stephanie Schriock, president of EMILY’s List.

“I am thrilled to receive the endorsement of EMILY’s List. Madeleine Kunin is the only woman ever to serve as Vermont’s governor, but it’s been three decades since she served, and that’s too long. If we want to change our story, we need to have new voices at the table. I’m proud to have received the support of EMILY’s List. I intend to be the second of many women to serve in Vermont’s top office. And, I look forward to having this campaign pave the way for other women who seek office,” said Holcombe, in response to the endorsement.
