BRATTLEBORO, VERMONT – On June 22, 2020, Rebecca Holcombe’s campaign for Governor announced the endorsement of Curtiss Reed, the Executive Director of Vermont Partnership for Fairness and Diversity.
“Holcombe was well versed, assertive, and yet humble in her style of communication. On the other hand David Zuckerman expressed himself with paternalistic undertones. Holcombe gave thoughtful answers and displayed large doses of cultural humility. She deftly and seamlessly wove an understanding of inclusion, equity, and racial justice across the energy, education, economic development, criminal justice, and civic sectors. Zuckerman and Patrick Wilburn addressed inclusion, equity, and racial justice as afterthoughts to otherwise prepared, rehearsed remarks,” said Reed, referencing Holcombe’s presentation in last week’s forum on the environment and social justice, co-sponsored by the Vermont Sierra Club, 350VT, and Vermont Conservation Voters.
“Curtiss Reed not only speaks of the issues of justice that face Vermont; he continues to take meaningful action to make Vermont the just place our children and neighbors deserve. We need action now, not just talk. I am humbled to have received Curtiss’ endorsement, especially given how much he has done to help this state reach its promise,” Holcombe said.
